Pretty Church Wedding Today

Miss Marion Alice McCutcheon, daughter of Mrs. William McCutcheon, 1106 Washington street, and Albert J. Foster, son of Mrs. A. J. Foster, 808 North Fifth street, were quietly married this morning at St. Irenaeus church at 8:30 o’clock in the presence of relatives and friends. Rev. James Comerford performed the ceremony and celebrated the nuptial Mass. They were unattended and the bride was gowned in dark blue messaline with hat to match and carried an arm bouquet of American Beauty roses.

 

Following the church ceremony a wedding breakfast for the bridal couple and immediate relatives, was held at the home of the bride’s mother. The home was tastefully decorated, a large wedding bell hanging over the dining table.

 

Mr. Foster and bride left today on an eastern wedding trip, returning they will be at home at 1022 Second Avenue, Clinton, after April 15.

 

 

Carrie McCutcheon Bride of F. Reusche

Tuesday evening at 7:30 o’clock, Rev. James Comerford, pastor of St. Irenaeus Catholic Church officiated at the marriage of Miss Carrie McCutcheon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. McCutcheon, 1106 Washington Street and Fred Reusche, son of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Reusche, 709 North Fifth street, the ceremony performed at St. Irenaeus parochial residence. The young people were attended by Miss Grace Hammond and Walter Reusche.

 

 

The bride was gowned in Duchess blue satin and wore a becoming hat to match. Her honored maid wore blue taffeta. After the wedding the bridal party repaired to the home of the bride’s parents, where a wedding dinner was served to fifty relatives of the contracting parties. The home was decorated in a profusion of cut flowers and fern.

 

 

Both bride and groom are well known young people of this city. The groom is a valued employee of the Clinton Lock Co. They will reside in their newly furnished home at 705 North Fifth Street, and will be at home after October first.

 

 

 

Quiet Wedding For Young Couple

Miss Josephine McCutcheon and Lyle Gundelfinger were quietly married Wednesday evening by Rev. James Comerford of St. Irenaeus church at the parochial residence. They were attended by Miss Marion and Klare McCutcheon, sister and brother of the bride. Following the ceremony a wedding repast was served to the immediate families of the contracting parties at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. McCutcheon residing in West Main Street. The bridegroom is the elder son of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Gundelfinger, 221 North Seventh street. The young couple, have gone to housekeeping at 802 South Fifth street.

 

 

Married This Afternoon At M. E. Parsonage

Miss Etta Finch daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. O. Finch, 525 Second avenue and Klare J. McCutcheon, son od Mrs. William McCutcheon, 1106 Washington street, Lyons, were united in marriage at the First M. E. parsonage this afternoon at 2:30 o’clock by Rev. H. C. Culver.

 

The bride wore a gown of white organdie and hat to match and carried a bridal bouquet of pink roses.

They were attended by Miss Lillian Finch, a sister of the bride and William Wright of Monticello.

The bridesmaid wore a gown of maize organdie and a hat to match and wore a corsage bouquet of sweet peas.

 

 

Those out of town who attended the wedding were Misses Lilie and Thelma Brady and William Wright of Monticello.

 

Mr. and Mrs. McCutcheon left for a visit with relatives in Monticello. They will be at home to their friends after July 1, at 200 South Third Street.

 

 

Mary Clare Spain, Thomas McCutcheon United in Marriage

In St. Irenaeus Catholic church at 9 o’clock this morning, Miss Mary Clare Spain became the bride of Thomas M. McCutcheon. The bride is a daughter of Mrs. M. F. Spain, 622 North Fourth Street, and the late Mr. Spain, and the bridegroom is a son, of Mrs. William McCutcheon, 614 Twenty-Second Avenue, North, and the late William McCutcheon.

 

Rev. H. F. Finefield, pastor of St. Patrick’s Catholic church officiated at the double ring ceremony and nuptial mass in the presence of relatives and friends of the young couple. Nuptial vocalists were Mrs. Maurice Cavanaugh and Joseph Watters with Mrs. Charles Watters the organist.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her brother, Joseph V. Spain, was wearing a floor length gown of white burmil satin styled with a beaded sweetheart neckline, fitted bodice and long sleeves. The full skirt extended into a cathedral train. Her fingertips blusher veil of imported silk illusion was held in place by Juliet cap of Chantilly lace and seed pearls. She carried a modern bouquet of white roses and also a pearl rosary, a gift of her mother. Only jewel worn was a strand of pearls, a gift of the bridegroom.

 

Mrs. Joseph V. Spain, sister-in-law of the bride, was matron of honor and was wearing a gown of lustrous old rose satin fashioned with draped collar across the shoulders and back with fitted bodice and bouffant skirt. She wore a matching Juliet cap and mitts and carried a colonial bouquet of yellow roses.

 

Little Linda Ann Lampe was the flower girl and was in a long gown of Alice blue net over taffeta with which she wore a matching headdress and mitts. The ring bearer was Richard Spain, nephew of the bride.

 

For her daughter’s wedding, Mrs. Spain chose a charcoal gray crepe gown with purple accessories and complemented with a shoulder corsage of white carnations. Mrs. McCutcheon, mother of the bridegroom was in a grape beaded crepe gown with black accessories. Her flowers also were white carnations.

Robert Reusche attended Mr. McCutcheon as best man. Ushering were Lee McCutcheon, Fred McCutcheon, William Gundelfinger and Phillip Reusche.

 

A wedding reception for the bridal party, immediate relatives and out of the city guests followed in the Blue room of the Lafayette hotel, with a reception later for guest. Later the couple will leave on a southern wedding trip, the bride traveling in a three-piece brown pin-checked suit with coral velvet accessories. On their return the couple will be at home at 2431 North Second Street.

 

The bride who graduated from Our Lady Of Angels academy and St. Joseph’s Mercy Hospital school of nursing is employed as an industrial nurse at Du Ponts. Her husband, who graduated from St. Mary’s high school attends the American Institute of Commerce, Davenport.

 

Among the guest coming from out or the city to attend the nuptials were Mrs. Charles Franke and daughter, Catherine, LaCrosse, Wis.; Mrs. Peter Neu and daughter, Lillian, Mason City, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Reusche and son, Phillip and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Reusche, Chicago; and Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Neu and Mr. And Mrs. Sal Neu, Davenport; Sgt. and Mrs. Arthur Spain, Highland, Ind., and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Roup, Cedar Rapids.
